The AF corse team at the pre-race test in Spa
Julio 9, 2008 – 12:02 am | por admin |Yesterday , the 08 th of July 2008, took place the Test in Spa, as a preparation for the prestigious 24 hours race , which is a turning point for the 2008 FIA GT championship. With the aim of feeling more confident with the track , Gianmaria Bruni and Matias Russo took part at the Test.
Defined also the crew for the Af corse team , which will race in Spa the 2nd of August;
Car n. 50: Gianmaria Bruni, Toni Vilander, Mika Salo, Jaime Melo
Car n. 51: Thomas Biagi, Christian Montanari, Matias Russo, Dominik Farnbacher
This will be a great chance for the Argentinean driver Matias Russo, who in the FIA GT championship is in couple with Luis Perez Companc with the car 95 for the Advanced Engineering PeCom Racing Team. During the last race in Oschersleben they gained some precious points, crossing the finishing line at the sixth position for GT2 class.
Another major and skilled guest will be Mika Salo, ex driver for Ferrari Formula 1, who has already won the 24 hours race of Spa in 2006 with AF corse.
For the season 2008 both Mika Salo and Jaime Melo are running with the Team Risi Competizione in ALMS championship driving a Ferrari F430 GT2 , but this time they will be once again protagonists with Af Corse.
There is also a new entry for the team: Dominik Farnbacher is a young talented driver who race in the USA for the ALMS championship in couple with Dirk Muller.
